Emergent Visionaries Inc. is the first non-profit in South Oak Cliff that was created and founded by a African American female that has multiple trades under her belt. She has degrees in electronics engineering technology, computer aided design, construction management and certifications in audio visual design and project management. She has worked as a Senior CAD Designer and Technician, Systems Design Engineer in residential AV, plumbing apprentice at Texas Instruments as a contractor with TD Industries, fiberglass ship building fabricator, fiberglass pipe fabricator, optical technician, and currently a business owner of Alegeh Drafting Services and F.D. Hawkins Painting and Remodeling. The founder also has certifications in food management and owns several websites and blog sites.
Emergent Visionaries, Inc. (501c3) was founded in 2016 by the current Executive Director, Francine Hawkins-Alegeh. Over the last 7 years she has mentored in the Irving ISD and Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD school districts. Francine has also served on several technology advisory boards and construction organization's Board of Directors the last 10 years. Positions held include President, Vice President, Secretary, Director and many Committee Chairs. Mentoring and educating teens are her passion. Paving the way for underprivileged youth are her priority. She has also published a book Building Professionals - Road to Success for students in the construction industry. She has formed partnerships with other non profits, homeless shelters and educational institutions of learning.
